Inline Barns
The inline barn is perfectly suited to our warm southeast climates. This is an open style barn, available with
a 10’ or 14’ overhang. The post is installed
two feet inside the overhang, so the actual
work area would be 8’ or 12’. The overhang
provides for a workspace in front of each stall
and offers some degree of protection from the
elements. Versatility in layouts is another plus
with this style – it can be designed in “L”,
“U”, and other shapes to truly customize your
barn layout.
Gable Center Aisle Barns
A popular design, the Gable Center Aisle allows plenty of workspace and
protects your horses. The breezeway adds to ventilation for a very
functional and attractive barn. The Gable Center aisle barn is available
with either 12’ or 16’ aisle widths. The 12’ aisle is the most
common; the 16’ aisle is usually used in larger boarding barns
to accommodate tack lockers and allow two horses to pass with
plenty of room.
With the center aisle designs, two stalls “share” the aisle,
which will reduce your overall square footage, making it a very cost effective building. Since
stalls on both sides flank the aisle, it is protected from the elements, giving you a nice workspace
regardless of the weather. The addition of the optional breezeway doors at the ends of the aisle
allow you to close up and secure your barn in the event of inclement weather.
Raised Center Aisle Barns
Our most popular style, The RCA offers all the benefits
of the Gable barn with the
addition of a raised center roof
system with optional windows
along each side. This provides
additional natural lighting and
ventilation along the entire length
of the barn. Sliding
windows may be added to the raised section to maximize ventilation control
in our warmer climates. Unlike other steel barns, MD's
raised section allows space for six sliding windows per 12' section; that's 300%
more light and ventilation! Get more of what you're buying a Raised Center
Aisle barn for with an MD Barn!
